BIH, BRČKO,

Description:

MURAL OF 3 ARTISTS FROM 3 DIFFERENT ETHNIC GROUPS

''The mural and the film are the result of a joint activity of the informal youth movement "District team" and freelance artists "Ash Guerrilla" from Brcko. Young people from these two associations claim that it is their gift to the city and a contribution to building community in BiH.

The film "Children of Dayton" connects a series of activities carried out this year by young activists and freelance artists, and the backbone is the story of war veterans and generations who grew up in the 1990s.''

Sarajevo, where the walls breathe

2021

Description: Citation from the article: “We suffered a lot during the war and we did not have a way to express it,” sighs Rikardo Druškić, a street artist living in Sarajevo. “That is why I see all the writings and images on the walls around the city as an expression of all the repressed pain that is still there.”

In photo: Imran Muratagić and Džavid Berberović painted a mural on an elementary school in Sarajevo, shining a light on endangered animals as a result of pollution and industries.

Female First Line

Sarajevo, 2021

Artist Smirna Kulenović

Smirna Kulenović works in a wide range of media; from conceptual art, performance, sound art, film and text - to guerrilla activism and direct actions / interventions within public space.

This year he represents Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Coventry Biennial of Contemporary Art (Great Britain) with the sound-art installation "Meditation I: Cellular Automata".

At the location above Vranjac, in Zlatiste, Sarajevo's Centar municipality, on the former first line of defense of the city, in the former trenches of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 100 participants in the artistic performance "First Women's Line" planted 1,000 marigold seedlings as part of a monumental art installation.

It is an art installation "Our Family Garden 2" by artist and researcher in the field of Art-Science Smirna Kulenović, which is a contribution to the culture of memory.

This space will be accessible and open to the public as the first "organic, living monument" to the killed and wounded veterans, killed and wounded civilians, all the victims and all survivors of the siege of Sarajevo.

Show respect to all fallen fighters.

On that occasion, the artist and organizer of the project, Smirna Kulenović, said that with this art installation they want to show respect for this area and for all fallen fighters in this location.

The goal of our performance as well as the installation itself is to make this an organic monument, first of all, to all the fallen fighters at this location, and then to all the people who fought in the war here, as well as the surviving citizens of Sarajevo. we will realize a long-term collaboration with the City of Sarajevo, where every year this location will become a new monument and we will plant new plants ", said Kulenović and added:
